Advantage and Disadvantage of Video Games

Video games have been a part of children's life for the past few decades. It all started when Atari came up with its first gaming console, which included a very simple game of tennis. The controller had just one stick and one button to play with. Now, we have many different types of consoles available in the market with very complex games that requires controllers with two or more sticks and a variety of buttons. Video games are almost second nature to the modern children and they are more comfortable playing them. Playing video games can have many different effects (both positive as well as negative) on children. Some of these effects include increasing hand-eye coordination and increasing dexterity mental skills; a decreased interest in other activities such as studies and sports; and a very negative effect of inducing violence.

But, one of the biggest concerns of playing excess computer games is that a child does not go out and play. Playing outdoor sports not only increases fitness but also helps in better growth of children as they are able to adapt better socially. Some of these games are violent and that is in turn harmful for growing children as it can make them hostile.

Kids can also learn from some video games especially if the game is from reality. Thay can learn life lesson and can apply it to real life. Some advantages are in the picture. 👆

Inter-class Public Speaking contest

This competition was fun and the contestants really did a great job in presenting their speech and putting their efforts in delivering and memorizing their speeches about cult of celebrities and how they will apply it to their self and add  depression to it. Luckily, one of our blockmate, Gracielle Sitjar won the competion. She was very busy in that week because she is also working on the choreography and acting as the leader for our speech choir. All her hard work pays off as she won the competition.

Speech Choir and Ignite Speec Competition

That week was a blast! We had fun in the past weeks. Even if we have to practice, we had fun and we have bonding with each of our classmates. We practiced hard and we got the reward we deserve.

In the Ignite speech, our blockmate Nicole Timbol did a great job in her speech entitled Uncoditional love where her mother is the main subject. It is true that our mother is the one who really gives unconditional love. That's why we need to love our mother and give all our effort to make her happy. Those competition were fun and really unforgettable.

The Phantom of the Opera

Phantom of the opera is theatrical and musical play which the characters are performing a opera. These play is performing an opera in opera. Eric the phantom of the opera is the one who finds love for  himself. Kristine is the one who became a star for her voice. Her voice is angelic voice which the phantom was inlove with that voice.

This play is different because the play is portraying a story of the opera and how they operate the opera and they portrays the story of the people behind the success of the opera. At first, I didn't have appreciation for the play but when I got fammiliared in what the story is really telling I got exited on the things that will happen next. I thank Ms. Elize fo letting us watch this beautiful play.

Dead Stars

Alfredo was once in love with Esperanza, no doubt, but there comes a time whenlove fades, and the only thing holding you together is the vow you gave your fiancée, thatwhich you cannot take back. Why can't you take it back? Its because you are afraid of whatwill be the reaction of the people around you, specially during the time of the story. What'svisibly wrong about this is that most often than not, men refuse to listen to their ownyearnings and simply submit to further dehumanization.

Love here, though perhaps genuine to a point, for Alfredo, is seemingly weak andpurposive. Weak, because it is eventually overcome by propriety, and purposive because itwas merely a tool to justify his desire to go against society; that for once he will not be apuppet, but the master of his own fate. In the story, Alfredo falls drastically in love withJulia even as he is engaged to Esperanza, but in the end forgoes the idea. He kept onholding on to that glimmer of "what could have been" through out the years of his marriageto Esperanza, but upon meeting Julia again, he realize that some people come and go

Dead star is one of the best story I ever read because of the story that gives the readers guess what will happen next. This love story could be the fruit of some love stories today or some new and young authors are inspired by this and created their own.

Zombading

Zombading is a movie that is a comedy movie with zombies. Remington is the star of the movie. He is a mature young man, who turned to gay by a curse of a lady that he disrespected. When he was a child he like to tease gay. This movie is a very funny one because of the story that is implemented.

Zombadings is more inspired than it sounds and looks. There is definitely more to the film than homosexual undead and slapstick. It is deliciously subversive, delivering a message that sadly and unfairly may not be universally accepted in the most universal of ways. This movie promotes equal rights to the LGBT community.

PLAGIARISM

Why do people just copy and paste without giving credits to the author of the article they copy from? Plagiarism is copying other ideas without permission or credits to the owner. It is only a group of words but it is also considered stealing from other ideas.
Plagiarism should not be done for it can destroy a person’s reputation. For instance, a student has done a research project and it was acknowledged by the whole country for it being innovative

In order to stop plagiarism we just need to think for ourselves and if we are about to copy just gove credits to the author you copied from. These are some steps in preventing plagiarism:

6 Ways to Avoid Plagiarism

Paraphrase - So you have found information that is perfect for your research paper. Read it and put it into your own words. Make sure that you do not copy verbatim more than two words in a row from the text you have found. If you do use more than two words together, you will have to use quotation marks. We will get into quoting properly soon.
Cite - Citing is one of the effective ways to avoid plagiarism. Follow the document formatting guidelines (i.e. APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.) used by your educational institution or the institution that issued the research request. This usually entails the addition of the author(s) and the date of the publication or similar information. Citing is really that simple. Not citing properly can constitute plagiarism.
Quoting - When quoting a source, use the quote exactly the way it appears. No one wants to be misquoted. Most institutions of higher learning frown on “block quotes” or quotes of 40 words or more. A scholar should be able to effectively paraphrase most material. This process takes time, but the effort pays off! Quoting must be done correctly to avoid plagiarism allegations.
Citing Quotes - Citing a quote can be different than citing paraphrased material. This practice usually involves the addition of a page number, or a paragraph number in the case of web content.
Citing Your Own Material - If some of the material you are using for your research paper was used by you in your current class, a previous one, or anywhere else you must cite yourself. Treat the text the same as you would if someone else wrote it. It may sound odd, but using material you have used before is called self-plagiarism, and it is not acceptable.
Referencing - One of the most important ways to avoid plagiarism is including a reference page or page of works cited at the end of your research paper. Again, this page must meet the document formatting guidelines used by your educational institution. This information is very specific and includes the author(s), date of publication, title, and source. Follow the directions for this page carefully. You will want to get the references right.
